Maritime security meets ultra-compact Ex camera
Monitored security in the LNG area below deck
Project planning
Similar to propulsion systems, cruise ships in particular are now experiencing a technological shift. In the interests of sustainability and environmental protection, many new ships are no longer operated with dirty marine diesel or heavy oil, but with LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas).
However, LNG tanks in ships not only have advantages, but also pose risks, because LNG is under pressure and if it escapes, not only an ignitable atmosphere is created, but also cold, which can lead to gas expansion. In order to ensure safety, our Ex camera systems are used, which are particularly notable for their wide gas group (IIC) and their extremely low temperature range down to -60°C. Our systems not only serve for safety monitoring and leak detection, but also provide information when critical atmospheres and low temperatures occur due to leaks or gas expansion.
Our cameras help to ensure and maintain the high safety standards of cruise ships, unnoticed by ongoing operations.
Testimonial
“The wide temperature range, ultra-compact design, high quality and individual adjustment options of the ExCam series are ideal for monitoring our LNG systems. In addition, all camera systems fully meet the minimum maritime requirements.”
