ATEX, IECEx and EAC-Ex certified Ex-proof dome camera
The ExCam series is certified according to European regulations (ATEX) as well as international ones (IECEx). The housings’ certification comprises ATEX group II for zone 1, 2 as well as 21 and 22 including the explosion groups IIC / IIIC. Furthermore it also disposes of EAC-Ex certification.
During the ExCam XPT Q6075’s development stage, the focus was clearly laid on security aspects as well as mechanical precision and high-quality stainless steels but also on the modular design.
Media resistance and seals
Due to the high-quality materials used for the ExCam Series (stainless steel 316L / CF-3M) it is resistant to a large number of media. The particularly designed optical dome is made of LEXAN©, a poly-carbonate which does not only withstand lowest temperatures but also has superior optical characteristics such as very low optical distortion. The camera‘s protection level is IP-68.
Temperatures
Also with regard to the allowed ambient temperature, the ExCam XPT Q6075 sets standards: The temperature limit is -50°C going up to +60°C.
In order to remain free of frost at -50°C we use a two PTC ceramics for heating (please refer to the applicable model code).
Reduced installation costs & Power over Ethernet (PoE)
A particularity of the ExCam XPT Q6075 is that the data streams as well as the power is transmitted via a single cable which means that for the installation within the safe area, only a PoE-Switch or a PoE-Midspan is required.
As the power supply of the camera is executed via Power over Ethernet (PoE according to IEEE 802.3at) via the network, no costly installation of a separate power supply is required.
HD CCTV Camera in blast proof housing
With its length of 378 mm and a diameter of only 195 mm, the ExCam XPT Q6075 is smaller than some camera models for safe areas - but with more powerful functions. Thanks to its progressive scan function, the ExCam XPT Q6075 is capable of making high-resolution images of moving objects with up to 60 frames per second: Without motion blur! The ExCam XPT Q6075 also delivers sharp images in HD resolution and excellent wide-angle images...
Day / Night function
The ExCam XPT Q6075 is equipped with a day / night function making it particularly suitable for the use in outdoor or indoor areas with poor lighting. When the brightness drops below a certain value, the camera automatically switches to night mode to produce high-quality black and white images using near-infrared light. Near-infrared light, with a wavelength between 780 and about 1000 nanometers, cannot be perceived by the human eye, however, the image sensor of the ExCam XPT Q6075 can recognize this light and uses it.
Auxiliary contacts
It is possible to flexibly equip the ExCam XPT Q6075 with additional lines which can link external digital auxiliary contacts with the camera logic. For example, the external contacts can be used to start or terminate a video recording or to clean the camera’s optical flange via a relay with compressed air or water spray. Via the video operation software SAMCONtrol® this can be done remotely.
Easy installation
The Tutorial SAMCON 01 Wiring the cable SKDP03-T to the junction box ExTB3 shows the electrical connection of a camera-junction box. In a first step the system cable SKDP03-T is configured. In the next step it is explained how to insert the cable into the terminal box ExTB-3 and how to connect it with the clamps.
Local record stores & Edge Storage
The ExCam XPT Q6075 has a microSD / microSDHC slot for a memory card of up to 64 GB (card included delivery scope) so that each camera disposes of an integrated recording device. In addition, the camera supports the active recording of streams into a central network directory (network storage or file server). The ExCam XPT Q6075 stores data independently without the control of external computers.
Benefits of digital network video surveillance
An IP network video surveillance system offers numerous advantages and special features.
Among other things, benefits include remote access, high image quality, event management, intelligent video capabilities, easy integration possibilities, better scalability, flexibility, and cost efficiency.
• Remote access
• High image quality
• Event management and intelligent video
• Easy, safe and sustainable integration
• Scalability and flexibility
• Cost efficiency
Remote access
Network cameras and video encoders can be accessed and configured remotely so that via our browser-based video management software SAMCONtrol®, multiple authorized users can watch live video images and video recordings at any time and from any networked location worldwide. This is an advantage in case you want to grant users of other companies, e.g. of a security company, access to the video images as well.
High image quality
For video surveillance applications, a high image quality is essential in order to be able to clearly identify involved persons or objects. With its progressive scan and megapixel technology, the XPT Q6075 offers a much better image quality as well as a higher resolution than any analog CCTV camera. In addition, it is much easier to ensure the image quality in an IP network than in an analog system.
For the current analog systems using a DVR as a recording device, numerous data conversions from analog to digital and vice versa take place: First the camera converts the analog signals into digital data, afterwards they are re-converted to analog signals to allow transmission. Subsequently, the analog signals are re-digitalized again for recording. Each conversion procedure as well as the cable’s signal attenuation influences the image quality. The greater the transmission distance of these analog signals is, the weaker the signal becomes. In a fully digital IP-Surveillance system, images from a network camera are digitized only once and they then remain in the digital format. As a result, not only unnecessary conversions are avoided but also image degradation due to long transmission distances in a network will not occur. In addition, digital images can be stored and retrieved more easily than it is possible with analog videotapes.
Event management and intelligent video
Often, an excessive amount of video data is recorded and there is not enough time available to analyze it properly. Advanced network cameras and video encoders with integrated intelligence or analysis functions solve this problem by reducing irrelevant video recordings as well as by initiating pre-programmed actions. Such functions are not available for analog systems.
The ExCam XPT Q6075 offers integrated functions such as video motion detection, active tampering alarm, and alarm and event management functions. Using these features makes the network cameras and video encoders capable of continuously analyzing the input data in order to detect events and to respond automatically – e.g. by starting a video recording and sending alarm notifications.
Event management functions can be set via the user interface or the network video software. Users can define the alarms or events by the used trigger and specify the time period in which the event has to be active. Furthermore, the actions can be configured (e.g. recording of one or more locations, locally and / or at remote locations, activation of external devices such as sirens, lights
and door opener, sending notifications to users).
Easy, safe and sustainable integration
Network video products based on open standards can be integrated simply in combination with video management and application software.
Scalability and flexibility
A network video system can grow with the needs of its users. For IP-based systems, many network cameras and video encoders as well as other types of applications can use the same wired or wireless network for data exchange.
Therefore a variable number of network video products can be added to the system without the need for extensive or expensive changes to the network infrastructure. In an analog system this is not possible as for such systems a particularly designed coaxial cable must be wired directly from each camera to a display / recording station. In comparison, network video products can be virtually placed in any location and incorporated into any network; being more or less open or even strictly protected.
Cost Efficiency
An IP-Surveillance system typically has lower total operating costs than a conventional analog CCTV system. In most cases, an IP network infrastructure does already exist so that a network video application can be easily integrated into the existing infrastructure. Wired or wireless networking solutions are also much cheaper than coaxial and fiber optic cable used for analog CCTV systems. The administrative as well as the equipment costs are lower as back-end storage applications as well as storage systems can be carried out on non- proprietary standard server as supposed to manufacture specific hardware such as a DVR.
Advantages of dome cameras
The inboard pan-tilt-zoom mechanism of done cameras allows an effective heating of the housing and the camera which is particularly a great advantage for low temperature applications. In addition, the mechanical components are not only protected against dust but also against outside damages.
Another advantage of the dome camera is that during its operation, injuries of personnel are excluded since all movable parts are situated inside the camera housing and are hence separated from operating personnel. In comparison to the classical pan-tilt-zoom system where the axes are located outside the camera housing, this offers another advantage: The lower weight.
Due to its design, dome cameras are significantly lighter which is also reflected by the lower requirements regarding the mounting and installation equipment.
Unlike classic pan-tilt-zoom cameras which require a risk assessment in order to determine the interval as well as the scope of the necessary maintenance measures, dome cameras are basically maintenance-free. Due to this, also the operating costs are reduced noticeably.
