Thermal Cameras

Non-contact detection of temperatures

Next to time, temperature is the most commonly measured physical property. Temperature behavior is often a good indicator of the state of physical systems. Friction generates heat, resistance of electrical contacts increases the temperature; Energy losses are often reflected in changes in temperature. For this reason, thermal processes are used in almost all sectors of industry. Thermography cameras range from simple imaging devices that detect movements and changes, to precisely measuring systems that can detect cold- and hotspots and trigger an alarm if a certain limit value is exceeded. Temperature monitoring takes place without contact; The heat-based recording of the data is therefore independent of visibility conditions.

Advantages of thermography cameras

  • Very fast measurement
  • Low false alarm rate
  • Very long, continuous measuring ranges
  • No influence on the measurement object
  • Measurement on moving objects possible
  • Independent of light and visibility conditions
  • Measurement possible at high voltages and in aggressive media
